Isopropyl β- d-1-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG), Dioxane Free CAS 367-93-1

Isopropyl β-d-1-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG)  CAS 367-93-1, dioxane free from non animal source manufactured and supplied by KEMYSTERY is a molecular biology reagent, a molecular mimic of allolactose which is a  lactose metabolite, that triggers transcription of the lac operon and hence is used to induce protein expression where the gene is under the control of the lac operator.

If stored stored at 4 Degrees C IPTG CAS 367-93-1 is stable up to 5 years. In a lab setting IPTG is most used for blue white screening, a screening technique that allows for quick and easy detection of recombinant bacteria in vector-based molecular cloning experiments colony screening and for the induction of recombinant proteins. For Blue white screening it is used in conjunction with  X-gal CAS 7240-90-6  another one of our manufactured products
